Well as I have said before Lady Gaga scares me a little bit.  But, I takes courage to go out and wear what you want to wear.  This is about the music not the physical appearance.  ”The Fame Monster” is not really a new album it is more of an extension of last years release “The Fame.”  The latest installment is like Gaga’s previous work which is very pop and dance club related music.  It is  definitely more upbeat music for seven of the eight tracks.  But I do tend to have a soft spot for artists that include a string section in songs.  The song out of the seven that does include this is “Speechless.”  For some of you who watched the AMA’s, this song was the ending song in her performance.

So it really depends on who you are.  If you really like the dance club music you should buy all eight tracks.  But if you don’t really like the dance music then just get the “Speechless” track.   If you get the deluxe edition of this album “The Fame” album is the rest of the tracks on “The Fame Monster.”

I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.  Even if you are spending it with family or by yourself just relax.  Take time to reflect on things and enjoy a good dinner.

After all the stuff that has seemed to happen lately a little bit should be added.  I know that music is art and that this is America and we have the right to express ourselves freely.  But, I think that the music should speak for itself.  The words and the instruments should be what matters.  When you listen to a song you don’t see the people singing or performing it you just hear words and musical tones.  It is great to see a performance and get lost in the music and not the actions.  But I am only talking about music that we listen to on the radio.  Music is expressed in various forms like acting.  But that is meant to tell a story.  Just take a few minutes out of your day pick a song to listen to and just listen to it.  In the end you will fell better about yourself.

I enjoy watching awards that show a tribute to music.  Even if it is an awards show that is voted on.  I would rather watch the performances on those because we all know it is the dumb ten year-olds that vote for those.  So, I just ignore the results.  I just got finished watching the American Music Awards.  There were many great moments and some head scratching moments.

I will start off with the fan voted awards.  The big winners were the late Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift.  Next I will go to the performance losers of the night.  First would be Rihanna.  I know she went through a bad year, but the performance was very messy.  The Second and last would be Adam Lambert.  I think it is good that there are artist out there that are open about their sexual preferences, but that was awkward.  It was a very screamy, pitchy performance.  I know a great songwriter Claude Kelly wrote this song, but I think he went a little skew with this one.

Now For the best performances of the night.  First would be Kelly Clarkson.  I an a big fan of songs that include orchestra strings.  They had changed this song because of the comparison to Beyonce, but this version is great.  I would like if Clarkson had done maybe a new song, but performing a different version is good.  Second would be Lady GaGa. Physically she scares me a little, but musically she is fantastic.  She proves that you should not judge by appearance and listen to the music.  It was great when she smashed her way in to the piano section.  Piano was a great choice to include.  Lastly was the great Whitney Houston.  The award of the night for her.  What is better that seeing a legend perform.  It is great to see her back again.  These three ladies also did what not many on the show did.  They performed on pitch and key.      I just wish the ending of the show was different.

Overall, It was an alright show.  The end went for too much shock value and could end up overshadowing the great performances in this show.  Congrats to all the winners and good night.  I hope…….

Well this album came out on November 10th, but I think it needs to be reviewed.  Bon Jovi’s eleventh album is “The Circle.”  The title does sum up what this band has done in their career.  This album is a mixture of original Bon Jovi rock and a little bit of country style.  The do tend to on the song “When We Were Beautiful” sound a little bit like U2.  On some of the songs it seems like they took  country songs and changed the words a bit and added a rock beat.  I do like how they did this, but it doesn’t seem like a different direction.  It is just a compilation of all their work.  I do like the different work that they have done, but this really is not that much of a new sound.  If your looking to get this album still consider your tastes.  If you are more of into the old eighty’s type Bon Jovi you may want more of a song like “Thorn in my Side.”  And if you like more of the country rock version you may want “Work for the Working Man.”

Overall this is an average album for Bon Jovi.  The title says it all that they have come full circle with a mash of all Bon Jovi sounds.

Sometimes you have to work through the pain and the crap.  Because when you look back you realize you are stronger and wiser for what has been done.  Some decisions maybe hard to do, but you need to think them through and choose the best possible one.  Even if it means that decisions is the hardest one to do.

Well I don’t really have much to say about John Mayer’s new album “Battle Studies.”  If you are a person who whats a more upbeat album, then this may not be for you.  Mayer’s album is made up of slower almost country like songs.  He even hooks up with country-pop star Taylor Swift on one song.  But, If fans of Swift are looking to have a lot of involvement in the song they will be disappointed.  She plays a very small part.  This album is good and different, but not as good as his last album “Continuum”  ”Battle Studies” will not be a top 40 radio hit, but it is a good listen if you are just trying to chill out and unwind.  It is an average album.  I would suggest the songs “Assassin,” “Heartbreak Warefare,” “Crossroads,” and “All we Ever do is Say Goodbye.”

R.I.P Grandpa.  From what little everybody shared about you I have learned much.  The memories will be cherished and at some points hidden forever.

Well I finally have gotten around this week to listening to Dashboard Confessional’s new album “Alter the Ending.”  I only have the regular version and not the deluxe with all the acoustic.  I have to say that Dashboard Confessional’s sixth studio album is the best so far.  The history of this band started out as one person and expanded to a whole band.  And it just keeps getting better.  This album is worth buying the entire thing.  The only complaint I have is that a few songs in the middle sound a little too similar and made me tune out a little.  But It starts out strong with “Get Me Right” and ends with a bang with “Hell on the Throat.”

Great writing and beats.  Well worth it.

Ok so many people think that friday the 13th is bad luck and we need to be on guard.  I say it is just a number.  I only say this because my birthday is on the thirteenth day of a month, not this month.  It is just another day of the month.  You might just do some halloween type stuff on this day.  So, I say go out and live and do whatever you want
